This process is opposite to the cutting process carried out in CNC machine. In this procedure, different materials are joined together after melting them. The melting process causes these materials to fuse with each other, thereby causing plastic processing. This is also known as welding process in simple terms in which two different materials are linked together to form different plastic materials.
There are different types of operations which are carried out in joining. 2D and 3D laser joining (joining different materials with help of laser), extrusion welding (both plastic materials are melted and fused together), ultrasonic welding (use of ultrasonic waves to join two or more materials) and hot gas welding (joining different materials through expulsion of hot gas) are all part of joining process of plastic processing.

There are numerous types of joining or welding machines available in market. First of all, there is stick joining which refers to the joining of different materials by melting and fusing them. There is wire feed joining in which end parts of two plastic materials are heated with an arc. This heating allows them to be joined together effectively.
Flux core welding depends upon the feed from a flux gun. With the help of this gun, two materials could be joined together very easily. There are different tools depending upon the type of joining machine being used. These tools could be laser, ultrasonic, hot gas or an arc.
